As expected we had an amazing time for a packed Gouden Leeuw in Dongen. It was great to be the support act for The Golden State Lone Star Blues Revue (it sure is a mouthful!) consisting of all star blues greats Mark Hummel, Little Charlie Baty, Anson Funderburgh, Wes Starr and R.W. Grigsby. It was equally great to see many familiar faces in the appreciative audience. Thanks! You guys rock!
Bluesbreeker.nl's Wil Wijnhoven was there and shot some great pictures and also wrote a rave review of the gigs that day. Click Here to read the full review. Some quotes regarding our gig:
"It clearly shows that you can book this act as a main act if it weren't for The Golden State Lone Star Blues Revue"
"...you will be amazed at the quality this quintet displays"
Thanks to Marble Amps for bringing a fantastic harmonica and guitar amp for both Mark Hummel and Little Charlie.
As many of you probably have heard already, tomorrow (17 nov) we'll play with the full band at De Gouden Leeuw in Dongen (NL), where we'll open for the Golden State Lone Star Revue, i.e. Mark Hummel, Anson Funderburgh, Little Charlie, RW Grigsby and Wes Star. A killer line-up for sure and we're happy to be their opening act. Gonna be fun!
For those of you who weren't there: a review (in Dutch) of our gig at Cafe Wendela during the JazzyTiel festival appeared on Bluesmagazine.nl. We had a great time and thank all who showed up. Richard van Bergen showed up and played a couple songs with us.. good times indeed!
Next one up is the 17th of November where we will open up for Mark Hummel's Golden State Lone Star Revue (featuring Anson Funderburgh and Little Charlie Baty!) at Blues Promotion Dongen.
In the mean time we started working on writing new songs to add some new original material to our sets. We feel we've got some strong stuff comin' up and can't wait until we've finished the songs and can start playing them live.

Little Steve & the Big Beat
Little Steve & the Big Beat are a high-energy Rhythm & Blues outfit. They take the blues, add some soul and play it the way they feel it is supposed to be played; fiery guitar playing and strong vocals on top of a solid rhythm section. All the while the horns add a groove that will get your hands clapping and feet moving! Little Steve & the Big Beat stay true to tradition while not merely imitating, but adding their own voice to this expressive style of music.
