Bluesbreeker.nl has been the first online blues magazine to have reviewed our EP and we're incredibly happy with the first crit of our EP! Concluding the interview Wil Wijnhoven wrote:

"Now we will have to wait for a full album. If that will be on the level of this EP then it will be a gem. This EP tastes like more, much more."

We had a blast at the Zoetermeer Blues Festival last Saturday. It was our first time as a 5 piece band, with Evert Hoedt on Baritone sax added to the Big Beat Horns. It sounded great and things felt so "right" that we want to start booking our band as a 5 piece from now on as much as possible. Next one up as a five piece band will be on August 17th at the Giethoorn Drijf In blues festival, but we've got more gigs booked as a 4 piece band in the mean time.. hope you come and watch us on one of our upcoming gigs soon!

Bluesmagazine.nl review

Though we're quite a new band, we were already lucky to have gotten some great reviews of previous gigs. To add to that we have gotten another great review by Bert Lek for www.bluesmagazine.nl of our gig in Zoetermeer (translated from Dutch):

"The band have just released their first EP of which they play Feel so Bad, Working Overtime, Slip Away and Count On You. Clarence Carter's Slip Away is the one I remember the best, what a beautiful rendition of this song! But the other songs are very good as well. Steve has a nice voice, plays guitar very well and the horn section adds to it in a beautiful way. These men could have also been booked as a closing act. A top class band."

Little Steve & the Big Beat

Little Steve & the Big Beat are a high-energy Rhythm & Blues outfit. They take the blues, add some soul  and play it the way they  feel it is supposed to be played; fiery guitar playing and strong vocals on top of a solid rhythm section. All the while the horns add a groove that will get your hands clapping and feet moving!  Little Steve & the Big Beat stay true to tradition while not merely imitating, but adding their own voice to this  expressive style of music.
