Jody van Ooijen started playing drums at the age of 4. He was spoon-fed by his father and grandfather who were / are also drummers. His very first experience with a band came when he was in secondary school, where he played with various school bands. Things developed fast after that. Jody started a band with friends, which came to be known as ‘Coup de Grace’. With that band he played for a long time. Thereafter, it was the band “The Strikes” that kept Jody busy. With “The Strikes” he played at the larger festivals/concert halls at home and abroad, such as Noorderslag, Northsea Jazz, Moulin Blues, Bluesfestival Peer, Muziekfestival Curacao, 013, Paradiso, Tivoli, Jazz and Blues and jazz Rally Luxemburg, amongst others.
